Subject: Battle of Dual Opterons

Author: Mike Byrne

Date: 14:33:56 02/21/05

Here white us running Deep Shredder 9 on Dual Opteron 250's against Crafty on
Dual Opterons 244's. The 244 are ovcerclocked - almost making them "247s"
(there is no such thing - but running at almost 2.1 Ghz - places thius machine
between the 246's that run at 2.0Ghz and the 248's that run at 2.2 Ghz.

This was the second game of two played. Shredder 9 won the first one. Thus
far, after 5 games, Crafty64 has played even against Shredder 9 on this setup.

The neat thing about the game below is th4 technique Crafty used to win a B&N
for a rook (move 36) and later to blockade the d pawn and then to manuver N to
the front of the d pawn so that it could no longer be protected (46 Nd5,
followed by Qxd6). The game was over at that point. There is something to be
said for 4M nps. Is it time for CCT 8?
