I am an active tournament player and use my chess software mainly for analysis. I definitely want the strongest chess program possible for this. Any engine can tell you that you blundered but strong engines can show you interesting plans. Also the stronger the engines get the better and faster the analysis. This is a great time saver. Maybe Fritz 5 would find the same thing as Fritz 8 but I bet Fritz 8 finds it quicker. Every once in awhile I play a game against one these monsters. There's no need to ask how I do. I can't even beat my phone! Regards Tony
