It does, without a doubt. Glaurung's opening book code and the book itself
were created in just a couple of hours on a very busy afternoon. The book is
built from a big PGN database, and it appears that my criterions for which
moves to include in the book were far from perfect.

In Dann's experiment, as he points out, Glaurung didn't use its own book
anyway. Both engines were using the same PolyGlot book. Of course this book
was not optimised for either engine, which means that this experiment does not
answer the question of whether a sufficiently good book is worth 700 Elo
points. To me, however, the question of how big the difference between a
random book and no book is is also an interesting one.

There is no reason to rename Glaurung's book. Just change "OwnBook = true"
in the polyglot.ini file to "OwnBook = false".
