The normal board size is 19x19. 13x13 and 9x9 boards are used when teaching beginners, and occasionally in tournaments. I have never seen anybody use boards smaller than 9x9, and playing on a 5x5 board would not be interesting at all. >If not, then it is like saying 2x2 chess is solved! Almost. You can't play chess on a 2x2 board, because it is not possible to put the kings sufficiently far apart. ;-) Tord
