My program has this capability because of it's object oriented design (although not implemented in C++). My board representation is an array of polymorphic pieces, each knowing how to generate, make, and unmake its own moves. Right now, I generate the full move list all at once, but it would be trivial to do it piece by piece this way. You'd want to tie this into your history table so that you'd try the most effective pieces first. Pat
