hi John

well several of the Novag computers such as the Sapphire or Sapphire II when
connected to the Novag Universal Chess Board will do that

the players can engage the "Monitor" mode option and play their game.
then later ,the game can be sent to a PC (via the PC Serial connection )on the
Sapphire computers

however this is not exactly the "only" thing the computer will do
it plays chess of course as well

i do not know of any dedicated unit that will only record games to be sent to a
PC

the DGT chess board must be connected to the PC to record the game in the first
place

Best
Steve
