The manual dictates two sticks in pairs per processor, as you suggest, for NUMA support. However for 64 bit operation the manual shows only 2 sticks in total, one for each processor, or both on the same processor but not paired. That leaves me with the dilemma of which way to go - 4 x 512mb or 2 x 1gb sticks. An earlier message on this board, I think from Vincent Diepeveen, has suggested a strong preference for 64 bit over 128 bit memory configuration for chess engines. Does this advice still hold good for DS9 on a modern motherboard?
