Perhaps the others wanted to go to IPCCC but couldn't or didn't come up with a convincing version, or intended to go, but couldn't be bothered in the end. I don't think that just asking somebody to do something obliges them to tell you their reasons for doing or not doing what you want them to do. Andrew
