That's what I'm talking(writing) about. I've tried the Chessbase instructions for installing programs like Crafty but I don't fully understand the instructions. In my mind they are not complete or are assuming knowledge I do not have. I'm just barely able to get on the internet and make messages. I'm not really a "Computer person" so I'm "Computer Challenged" most of the time. I'm not much of a chessplayer either but I'm facinated by the combination of computers and chess. I thought since this site was a place where people pass along information that they have and others would like to have, that someone would give me a step by step instruction that works to get Crafty to work. So far all I get is meaningless phrases. I got Crafty to work inside the Fritz GUI but not very well. I then discovered that Crafty 16.3 has a bug in reading the endgame tablebases on "slow hard drives" according to R. Hyatt. So I gave up the project for a while. It is my hope that one day I can get Crafty to play under the Fritz GUI (Or something similiar) using it's own opening book and it's endgame tablebases. That goal seems unreachabel at the present as no information is forthcoming. Jim Walker
