It's futile arguing about which 6-piece tablebases are the most useful. We will all have different opinions. As I see it, until we all have much more data storage on our home PCs we'll have to make compromises based on more practical considerations. My question is: has anybody put together statistics of the size of all the curently available tablebases, preferably in Megabytes? (I'd load the directory info into a spreadsheet program and calculate it myself, but not all the 6-piece tablebases are online at the moment).
