Actually, starting your own online chess server to compete with ICC is a great idea...what with your computer/programming/internet skills, you could set up something very competitive in no time. You could give each chess author some upload space for their engine, and you could use WordPress or MoveableType to give each author a place to write something about their engine, while maintaining a consistent style across pages. You could get permission to have Talkchess.com appear in a frame, so that it's integrated into your site, or set up your own bulletin board. Who knows...it could become a community project...could rival ICC in a very short time. Tons of people here would support it, I'm sure. After what you said today, I have no love for ICC anymore.
