On one hand I see some value in this (i.e to use the chess server for the CCTs
and as a meeting point and chat room for programmers) which would be a great
idea in my opinion. But you have to be aware that there would be only chess
engines playing on this server as not many human players (and for sure no titled
players) would play there.

Also I want to state that in my several year experience with ICC I always found
most of the admins there quite nice and helpful. They gave me (and many others)
a computer account for free (and my engine is not even playing chess yet, sssht)
apart from my normal account for which I pay. I agree there are some good and
some heavy-handed admins (as there is always a good and a bad cop), but you find
them on all the chess servers. Somebody has to deal with the difficult cases.

Especially Zek was always fair and helpful when I was on ICC. Don't doom the
whole ICC just because of one bad experience.
