But I only get 3-4-hours/night...every night. That's because I'm a Correspondence Chess player with a wife and children. My wife, quite correctly, forbade me from disappearing into my basement office for hours to study game positions during "family time." So that leaves me only the hours after my family goes to bed, for my study. But the three down sides are: 1) I'm tired then too, so my work is slower and less alert 2) I'm not in bed with my wife very much, which creates marital strains 3) Sometimes I'm so tired that I need to go to bed immediately (and sleep for 11-12 hours) to try to make up for my sleep deficit. I did that last night. I've got 24-games going now (2-tournaments, versus players rated about 2500 ICCF), so when they conclude, my hope is to take about a 6-month sabbatical from Correspondence Chess in order to restore a normal family life, and more night-times spent with my wife. All the best, Steve
