Instead of drawing, the players should flip a coin to see who must resign. With
a 50-50 chance at 3 points, each player would stand to gain 1½ points on average
versus only 1 point for drawing. The only exception would be if the prize
structure favored a mutual draw sufficiently to offset the gain.
