hi Dick
in general unless the computer is a piece recognition computer(such as the
Mephisto Bavaria or Tasc Computers)there should be no problem with using any
other magnetic piece with your President

almost all auto-sensory  board's  works by way of a Reed switch which is
activated whenever a magnet it placed over it

so as long as the missing piece is not too big or small for the board there will
be no problem using another piece
