One of the major purposes of XML is to represent data only in the document
itself, and say nothing about formatting. If you want to format the data in a
specific way, you should write a separate style sheet for how it should be
formatted, using XSL or CSS. See, for example,
http://www.w3schools.com/xsl/default.asp.

I used IE myself, and didn't find it that bad.

Let me know if you want any help with this project, I think XML is fantastic for
this kind of data representation.
