The _only_ evidence I have seen for comparison between Deep Blue and PC programs is when the debate came over the Be4-Qb6 (2nd game of their rematch) that Kasparov claimed Deep Blue had cheated with. Programmers here ran their programs for up to 2 weeks, searching as many nodes as DB would in 3 minutes, and not one could come up with Be4. From the _only_ evidence available, I think coming to a conclusion opposite yours is _very_ reasonable. James
