I have a dual mp system 2400+ xp->mp setup and love it for what it is doing it is too fast! webserver, dns, database server, mail. For chess I ran some benchmarks using crafty and was impressed. Now one of my chips failed and I am going to buy two new 2800's when the other chip fails and not before because I noticed that even on one chip it still is only using about 20% of the cpu!! So get one before they get rid of them. Opteron is good but cost alot more and at my level I could not take advantage of extra speed.
