Perhaps it has a bug in that situation, I don't know. But another possibility is that you could have a bad installation or a system problem. So first, I would redownload/reinstall the software. Also, Windows can develop faults over time and only a clean fresh reinstall of the op system can determine whether that's the cause. I'm afraid SP2 introduced some problems in many systems running Windows XP so certain software won't work correctly. I've had that experience. And I don't know if this is relevant, but will mention it... After long use of Shredder 8, I became convinced that it had some kind of special weakness in endgames involving active rook play and pawns. It just couldn't find the right move. I think it had something to do with pawn levers and inability to see how to open a semi-closed position to advantage. I often had to resort to Fritz in such cases, which usually confirmed my suspicions. WP
