I'm considering to install Linux on my machine (AMD64) to run alongside Windows (fed up waiting for 64 bit Windows). I see that there are just too many Linux distributions to choose from, and it's very hard to see the forest through the trees. Redhat seems to be the most popular distribution, but I see that it is no longer free. So, what would you recommend (64 bit support is a must of course)? I considered Fedora, SUSE, Mandrake... but frankly I have no idea which one to choose. Any suggestion would be highly appreciated.
