Do you have an actual winning line for white? >Jim The white king came from g3 - I just took white's last move back. White can outmanoever the black king. For example 1. .. Kg6 2. Kg4 b6 3. b3 a6 4. a3 a5 5. a4 Kf6 6. Kh5 Kf7 7. Kh6 Kf6 8. Kh7 Kf7 9. d3 Kf6 9. Kg8 etc. In the Kasparov-Leko game, white's pawn was on c2 instead of d2, so white can't win any more, because as soon as he plays 9. Kg8, black plays 9. .. Kg5 and actually wins. That's why after .. Rf8 Kasparov tried Rh5 instead of g4. It also shows how hard it is to make heuristics for these endings ... Vas
