Well I think I might download the 9.2 DVD and see what it is like. Gentoo is
nice, but _constantly_ needs tinkering with. Also the updates for it almost
always break something, and the patch to fix the break, breaks something else :)

When I installed Gentoo from a stage 3 install, it took forever. The compiling
process was like watching paint dry. :) It is mighty speedy though once setup.

It would be nice to get a distro that "just works", and doesn't need constant
tinkering. I like messing with it, but when nearly every patch breaks something
it is tough to like.

I also heard SuSe removed mp3 support. I converted my entire collection of music
to mp3 format(14,000 songs), and bought a nice set of Polk Audio 5.1 speakers to
go along with my Turtle Beach sound card. Total peak output by the "system" is
about 990 watts. That is 300 watts better than what I used for a home stereo
before.

It would be a shame to have to recompile in all the support for it. I spent a
good deal of money getting my old lp's and 45's put onto CD a few years ago. So
I WANT mp3 support. :)
