Crafty vSE/64 19.19 (1 cpus)

(Using the freeware utility "ClockGen"that allows one to change the clock speed
on the fly.

Note: Be very cautious with this utility. Running your machine at other than
your machine's rated speed could lead to your machine totally inoperable. Use
at your risk, in no way shape or form, would I be responsinble if you this
utiility and destroy your perfectly good computer. Recovery methods may
include resetting the BIOS by shorting the CMOS jumper, and reformatting and
reinstalling operating system software. If you damage the processor, memory or
motherboard, you system may not be recoverable. Not all systems respond
favorably to this utility. SATA drives are especially noted for becoming
unstable in an overclock environment and may require reformatting to recover.

Ok - as it happens , my machine (Dual Opteron 244) , bears no illwillto this
little speed changer,

My machine is rated at 1.8 Ghz. I started the test at 1.6 Ghz and work my way
until the system crashed at around 2.1 Ghz.

System crashed @ 2100.48 Mhz. A different verison of Crafty with "futility"
obtained the best bench in terns of nps of 2109468 at 2096.16 Mhz. The system
will freeze eventually at this speed. Highest stable speed for this Opteron 244
is 2050 Mhz. For safety, I run it at 2041.68 (FSB=226.85). The AMD CPUID.exe
utility shows it running at 2074 Mhz with that setting - I'm not sure why the
diffennce between the two.
