The easiest for me was Suse (and that was 7.2 the first time I ever installed a linux), Red hat is preety straight forward too. I have no experience with Gentoo. But I would like to try it out too. I had some very bad experiance with Linux (early version) installation. Which resulted in loosing my windows pertition. So, as with everything else, it's a good idea to backup your stuff before you start installing linux alongside windows. Even if it's windowsxp. Good Luck. pavs
