This is a very good question, and something I have been wondering about. CT 2004 was released with Chess Assistant and ChessPartner, but not Chessbase. I have been watching CT2004 play online quite a bit recently, and it plays a _very_ solid game. That has got me wondering why the SSDF rating is only slightly above the previous versions, when clearly watching it online, it is the best version. I was watching a series of 30 10 games the other night on ICC between a Tiger clone (Using the ChessPartner Interface) and a Shredder 9 clone (Using the CB interface, so a good book was in use). After 6 games Tiger was leading 3.5-2.5 and they planned on playing through the night. It was a pre-arranged match, and the hardware was identical. Both were using AMD XP 3200+ systems, with the same OS and ram. I just can't remember either handle. Maybe someone else here was watching as well and can fill me in. I would like to know how the series ended, and if possible get the games to look over. With that said, I am considering purchasing CT 2004 today. I also hope there is a new Gandalf 6 patch coming out, as the version that played in IPCCC is supposed to be stronger than 6.01... Peter
