It is also possible that he has been working for years or is very gifted. I think right now, we do not have all the facts. It is possible for someone to read the crafty code and read fruit code and write a very strong chess engine if they understood it. I think (from a standpoint of probability) that some copying may have taken place and maybe even blatant, wholesale cloning. But before making any judgements, we should collect all the facts and also the clear statements of the one claiming to be the author. Right now, the information we have is ambiguous at best.
