Hi ROB the SR considers Qa5+ immediatley as its frist move but it does not announce a mate in fact it switches to Pxd6+ after 1 minute but it then announces the mate after 3min 11 seconds switching back to Qa5+ i happen to be playing the Elite A/G V6(same program as Excel or Designer Mach IV)when you posted this position and so since you mentioned dedicated units and not just portables i gave it a whirl on the V6 Elite A/G V6 finds the mate in 1 min 13 seconds just 12 sec less then your Mach III interesting Best Steve
