The program participating under the name List at the WCCC was a native Chessbase
version of List 5.12, not the UCI version that is freely available. The version
used at the WCCC is being tested by the German magazine CSS (see
http://www.computerschach.com/rangliste/english/), presumably because it is
stronger than the UCI version. I would be glad to hear from anyone who has both
versions of List 5.12 and can give his opinions about the relative playing
strengths.
