Now we aren't talking about how all GMs are clearly better than micros and show me the proof anymore; now the discussion focuses on the psychology and ecomomics of real chess players (i.e., US GMs). That is precisely what I wanted to get into when I started the post to begin with. Suppose Alex Shabalov (FIDE 2630 give or take a few pts) were to get an offer to play a computer (say mine) tournament regs 40/2hrs, with a guaranteed payment of 1,000 for playing the match and another $1,000 if he won outright < or = to 3.5 or 4.5 (6 or 8 games), what do you think he would say? You may say, why don't you ask him? Well I would if he returned my phone call. He is just one of any of the top US Grand Masters that I would love to accept such a challenge. Matt Frank
