I totally agree, and I would go farther and say that most GM rated below 2600 on
the FIDE scale (and not one heading south, because of retirement or age) would
be ata disadvantage against the top programs running on 450 MHZ Pentium 2s or
Hiarcs 7 running on a G3 233 or higher. If a few of the members of this club
would spend a little time looking trough the archives that we have at this web
site
 I think more would be inclined to agree with you (e.g., check out games played
by software running on slower machines than these doing very well at AEGON and
in match conditions at 90 min./game.
