Hi bob,
       I am using the book files available from your site. I have no idea why it
played the moves it played.
The crafty compile is the very fast version made by Mike byrne.
Unfortunately log was off, and it is a possibility that learning was off too (I
have two crafty.rc, I don't remember which one I used, the one with learn off or
the one with learn on)
