No, this argumentation is flawed. In this variation, only the first 4 moves by
White are forced (in order to win for an n-move rule with n big enough). You
cannot fully control the deviations after move 4.
How do you define best play?
For me, best play by Black is to reach a draw by the 50-move rule.
BTW, it is possible to force a delay of the pawn push or caputure until move 71:
