there is a #1 and # 2 CPU socket, it should be placed in the #1 socket, see MB
manual for details and it willwork as a standalone...


with dual processors, not only it should it be the same model, it should be one
with same steppings - you will need to match the OPN number...

that is why theses are usuaully purchased in pairs (or eights as the case may
be) and a standalone 846 chip may be obtained a great price ...because unmatched
it is nothing more than a 146 chip ..good luck!
