Pentium 4 2.8 Ghz 1 Gb ram, WinXP Home Edition. Ponder=off Both with own books. 256 Mb hash for Shredder 200 Mb hash for Gandalf Shredder Classic GUI 40+10 (40 min for the whole game + 10 seconds per move incriment) 1 Shredder 9 UCI X 10.0 10.0 / 12 20.00 83.33% 2 Gandalf 6.0 2.0 X 2.0 / 12 20.00 16.67% I am a big fan of Gandalf, but Shredder is just amazing. If it wasn't for that Gandalf win in game 9, i would have thought my setup was wrong. IMO Shredder handles the phase from mid game to endgame and the endgame itself amazingly well, also the opening book from Sandro Necchi, seems to be the best out there, he and Stefan must have a great team work. I will re-run this match a couple of times using the same paramters to get more games and to give Gandalf a chance to claw back a few :)
