As it says on Ed's page, the trick with this position is to keep searching
checking moves in the qsearch if you find that there is only 1-2 legal replies
to check in the previous ply.

I read Ed's page a while ago and played with this position.  Yes, you can solve
it instantly.  However my search got weaker as a whole when I allowed such long
checking sequences in qsearch and I reluctantly bounded the depth to which I
would allow checks in the qsearch.  I also inserted some other sanity tests to
make sure the checking side is not just wasting time running the other king
around the board.
