This position has long fascinated me and there are a few programs (perhaps even
more than a few ) that solved this mate-in-30.
The next version of modfied Crafty SE will also solve this neat position
quickly. Although I am not sure if it will play better chess. The secret here
is that there is 29 checks in a row follwed by mate.
