OK my point is that you need to search 19 ply (i.e. see Rxg7 in the second
variation) before you see the payback.  This is deep.  Shredder 9 find Nf5 in
the 10 the ply so I conclude that Shredder played Nf5 for reasons other than
material gain - I call this a positional sacrifice - maybe you don't and that's
fine.

I also let Glaurung and Fruit search on the original position and neither had
found Nf5 after 1 hour i.e. these two tactical monsters didn't see the move.

You can - and that's why Shredder's move after 2 secs is so impressive.
