The EGTB's on Professor Hyatt's site are the same files even though they have
the extra period, they should work with Chessbase, Lokasoft and Shredder
Classic.  They will not work with Chessmaster, as these use a proprietary EGTB
format.  Some have reported the files with the extra period won't work with the
Chessbase GUI, but this was probably an older version GUI.  You can always
simply delete the period if it gives you problems.
