Your solution: Full round robin with 12 participants = 11 rounds will work. The only difference is, that games between engines of nearly equal tournament performance can happen in any round, not just towards the end of the tournament only. But isn't it very likely that Shredder,Fritz,Junior all have 1 point after the first round of a swiss, when they have played weaker engines, too? So, the tournament mode cannot guarantee that these engines won't meet each other early, anyway. Just make it a round robin and be happy no? :-) Steve
