It doesn't appear that I can post images or make attachments here, so text will have to do. But I thought some readers here might be interested in this info. I recently got a quad Xeon 2.7 GHz server (2 MB cache) and 8 GB RAM. So first chance I got I installed Shredder 8 on it and gave it a quick test. Running the ShredderMark yielded a result of 1856 (1.6s) with a Nodes value of 483 kN/s. Seems like only 1 cpu was used for this based on further tests. Also at this time I only had 256 MB for hash tables. With the engine set to use 4 threads (default) I then tested it on some early game positions and most results were in the neighborhood of 1200 kN/s. This is not quite 4 times what my 2000 MHz Athlon gets at home but seems about right. Given the 2806 SSDF rating for Shredder 8 on a 1200 MHz Athlon, then this configuration should be in the neighborhood of 2900... Cheers, Chuck
