Hi Franz, I am well known for doing things without thinking, just ask my chess computers... How do I know in advance which mode to use. I haven't found anything in the readme (I was not looking into the source files...). 'Automatic' seemed a plausible mode, since my R30 found the mate also 'automatically'. :) Best, Martin P.S. I'm using the Shredder(ChessBase) via the UCI-interface.
