Anand is very strong and maybe N°1 now that Kasparov has retired.
But the last results from Linares and Corus seems to show that Anand is no
stronger than Leko or Topalov.
Kramnik games since 2001 are getting more and more diapointing.

for me World N°1 is :
1)Leko
2)Anand
3)Topalov

Kramnik comes only much later...  :-)
