       It could be round robin played like the Golden Knights do, 15 person
sections highest score and highest ties move on.

Like you said your talking of the day before e-mail things move alot quicker
now. I'd play in a 5 - 10 year tourny if I had the chance to win 100,000 or
more. Why not players are doing it for nothing.
