Steve,

I do appreciate it, but you are right as rain on the other issues with this
particular computer. When I was but a relative child, as buying these things
go, you gave me similar advice, and I ignored it a couple of times. What seemed
like good deals at the time, I have come to realize were simply errors in my
judgement. There are certain times where incomplete computers can still be
worthwhile, like my recent CC1, but I now know that those are the exceptions.

I have "grown" a bit since then, and have a long ways more to go. It has only
been a couple of months, but I now feel as if I understand the attraction of
acquiring these things. I once told you that I could not see the value in
spending hard earned money on the early chess computers that didn't even play
proper chess. I no longer feel that way.

In the past few days I have received a CC1, CC10, and CC7, and I am enjoying
them all very much. There is something wonderful about these old ones, that is
missing from the much higher rated and fancier models from a decade or so later.

Of course, that might simply be because I can win against these older chess
computers! :-)

Now if you had an extra black pawn for a Saitek President, I would be quite
excited. My Novag Emerald Classic Plus pieces work fine on it, but I hate not
having complete sets of anything.

Turning Over a New Leaf Regards,
