some dates:
CC1...6/1977   perhaps even a month or so earlier
by 7/1977 they were already selling the CC3
so to be very technical the CC1 was the first and the CC3 was the second to
become available

and of course ,Kurts web site has this posting (German):

it says that the CC1 was the first chess computer and it came into   the market
in 1977
his source is "Chess Bits" Jan 1999

there is no question as to the CC1 being the very first dedicated chess computer
ever released for sale to the public
