You'll be hard time playing any of them. Concerning what is stronger, the question maybe is not to receive a definitive answer, because each engine could be a bit better than the other in some kind of positions. One reason to buy Shredder: it has won most of the recent top engine tournaments. One reason to buy Junior: Amir Ban has been posting here more often than Shredder's creator, so you'll more chances to have some of your messages about the engine answered by the author himself. Concerning using engines for analysis: I bet no one is better than the other. Quality of analysis depends mainly upon the user. Analysis get better results when you're able to insert valuable moves for the engine to calculate, and that depends upon your own cleverness, hard work and chess habilities. If you're smart enough, you'll get terrific analytical results from Junior or Shredder cause both are so good. If you're not smart enough, you're often get less valuable results because you're not so good. If you're a fan of any of them, buy that one and be happy. Just my 1/2 cent :) Telmo >3) Does new versions(latest copies) of Junior9 from Chessbase contain the bug >that was discussed here? > >4) Is it true that Shredder is not a good engine playing against Humans? > >Regards > >Vikrant
