Bad idea. As Bob said, with any reasonable engine a capture can change the positional eval by a pawn or 3 easily (the best example might be capturing one of a pair of connected passers). Also, if you write an SEE you should have <30% of these "extra" nodes anyway, so you won't get much of a speedup . . . anthony
