How does that help?  Qc4+ or Qb3+ or Qa3+ or Qb1+ or Qd1+, just depends on where
the queen is at the time.  Even getting to the f file so that you can interpose
with the rook is no good.  For example, if Kf3, Qb3+, Re3, Qd1+ Re2, Qf1+ Rf2,
Qd3+ or Qd1+ etc.  The king has to escape, but he can't.  The white queen being
out of play is the killer here, if it could get back along with the rook, the
checks could be blocked, but it is stuck without a way to interpose and block a
check and get back into play.
