As far as I remember in the 1999/2000 hype years or at the top of the Japanese Bubble also the prices for such items went to unseen heights. I'm not at all sure if those prices -- even though they have fallen meanwhile -- are back to the same leves as they were before. Even today, since there is no liquid market for Van Goghs for example, it's difficult to assess the 'correct' price for such a painting. So I think (hope actually ;)) that my question was not that stupid as it seems at the first glance... :D Van Gogh Regards, Martin
