I suspect that more qualified people will give you better advice, but
I'll tell you what I know about that. There are various cases :

	1. The diagram is a single image (often 'gif' type) : make the contextual
menu appear by right-clicking on it (or click and maintain under Mac OS).
You should find a 'save image' menu item. The bad thing is that you have to
do this manually for every image and then manually paste them under Word.

	2. In some cases, the diagram is not a single image (for example an
image for each piece, arranged in a sort of matrix). This solution will
not be handy in this case.

Anyway, this type of solution can only be used to get a small number
of pages. If you want to copy a whole site for later reading, then use
a software called 'page sucker' (I don't know for Windows, but Anarchie
is a good product for the Mac). A page sucker can download an html page
or even a whole site but it must be used with care : usually (and it's
fortunate) URLS pointing outside of the hierarchy you asked to copy
will not be followed. Even like this, be careful of the amount of data
that it can represent.
Another problem is the purpose. These software should be used to
make the most of moments when the bandwidth is good and to avoid
accessing the same site repeatedly. This is good for everybody. But of
course, one should be careful to respect the copyrights.

I am fairly new to the chess ressources of the web, but I think
an effort should be made to find a standard solution for representing
and displaying diagrams. Exchanging chess data has already generated
the PGN and EPD standards. Could EPD be generalized also for diagram
display, via a cookie or java script of some kind. Sorry if this
question is stupid. I must admit I know very little about java and
cookies and such stuff.
